What’s a CSA?

CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture.” It’s a partnership between a farm and its community. CSA members pay a subscription fee at the beginning of the growing season, which the farm uses to buy seeds and supplies. In return, the farm harvests the choice produce for members. The CSA model fosters a direct connection between growers and eaters. Our 2021 CSA starts June 1st and continues through November 16th. More details here!

What’s in the box?

Each week boxes will contain 6-8 select items of the freshest produce on the farm. We love seasonal variety and that shows in our seed selection. We’re growing over 50 kinds of veggies from 8 separate seed sources carefully planted with intention to provide a wide variety week-to-week, so there’s always something you love and never too much of something you’re tired of.

Is it organic?

Yes, except in one important sense: we're not certified organic by the USDA. In the future, we would consider becoming certified, but for now, the paperwork and costs don't make sense. We rigorously follow organic practices on the farm: we use no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, we use no GMOs, we plant habitat for pollinators, and we use lots of compost to nourish the soil. You're welcome to visit the farm to see for yourself! Please contact us and schedule a visit.

Where and when do I pick-up my box?

If you live in the Fox Run or Woodmont neighborhood we’ll deliver to you free of charge or you can pick up at the Farm! For our friends in Louisville, we offer two pick-up locations: 1909 Sils Avenue in the Highlands and 277 Pope Street in Clifton. Pick-ups will be available on Tuesdays from 1-7 pm.

What if there’s a vegetable in my box I don’t know how to cook?

Each week, you'll receive a newsletter with a list of what's in the box and we’ll be collaborating with local chefs to bring you recipes, meal ideas, and cooking inspiration to help you in the kitchen.

Can I pay using personal checks or cash?

Of course! Email us if you’d prefer to pay with check or cash. We also encourage bartering. We’re working on compiling a list of valuable services we’d be happy to trade for. If you have a specific skill or resource you think we may be interested in, let’s talk!

I’m worried the CSA isn't right for me.

It might not be! Our CSA is a good fit for those who want to eat well and make fresh, organic vegetables a regular part of their day. CSA members value being connected to a farm and supporting beginning farmers in their community. If you're not a big vegetable eater or only want a few types of vegetables, you're probably better off supporting your local farmer's market instead.

This sounds amazing, I want in! What else do I need to know?

Cool! We dig you too, for more details on scheduling and payment, please check out our CSA Agreement.
